The fat lady has sung
Posted by Oskar Spångberg @ 2009/10/28
We now have performed both a presentation with our installation in front of a panel and held a open exhibition. This was the last deliverable in the brief and it couldn´t have been better.
FRIDAY:
The panel came to the venue on friday morning, while a lot of the groups were still up to their knees in wood, fabrics and cables. We had our presentation at 14:15 and were well prepared. They tested the installation out, printed copies of their art and sent it to their social media channels.
SATURDAY:
The day did not begin well, we had a lot of problems with all the Wii-remotes in the same room, overridning each others bluetooth connection and messing up calibrations. After tricking the computer in a number of ways, we got it working fine after about 45 minutes. Lisen, Marie, Daniel och Leijon did an amazing job introducing the installation to visitors, and both children and parents loved it. (you will find a short clip of the many comments that were sent to facebook below)

Hey, it finally works with drawing -> sending to website -> automaticly publish it -> clear screen -> start over and repeat for next artist. It feels really nice.

We are currently working on the homepage and it is things like bugfixes and content left. But hey, we have the main function going on. This will 100% work on the exhibition days. Just follow our progress over here and watch some artwork done by our crew.
Laters!
Pancakes and packaging!
Posted by Marie Lundgren @ 2009/10/18
After a long week of experience the world of technology our first prototype is done. Now all thats left to do is packaging, and making everything work flawless. Tomorrow all of us are going to meet up at Lisen´s place and we are going to have a pancake breakfast before “we get down to business”. A perfect way to start the day!
We are set, kind of

YES, we are so close to our final product. The only thing we need to do til’ the exhibition is to finish the homepage, build our paintbrush, buckets and connect em’ to the computer and the TV.
This is how our ToDo list will look like tomorrow
Heading for Springs!
Posted by Oskar Spångberg @ 2009/10/13
The name is set and the project couldn´t be more well described. I really feel that we all are working towards the same vision and no mather what problems we encounter, we will solve them. One by one. Tomorrow we will begin putting all the pieces together and prepare our first prototype.
In other news, Lisen has apparently fallen madly in love with Jacksson (a dead painter). How this will effect the work, we really don´t know. To be continued.

Concept Presentation
Posted by Stefan Leijon @ 2009/10/10
After a long day of trials at understanding Processing, eating well at Tellus (every friday there’s dessert!), productive meetings, gear and software research, midi conversion testing, voice overs, and video editing, the day is finally over.
It’s actually Saturday already..
Below is the video we will use in our hunt for sponsorship with gear etc..
The Presentation
Posted by Lisen Lindberg @ 2009/10/8
Our day started with a presentation from Sid Lee, who talked about their company and the things that they have done. It was very cool and they seem like an amazing firm with a great way of thinking.
After Sid Lee’s presentation we in the group went through our keynote presentation and gave input on the changes that were needed before the final show. It turned out great and we all were very excited to show it for the other groups that watched and for the people from Sid Lee, who gave us feedback on our concept and how we presented it.
It went absolutely superb! We got great feedback and things to think about/work with. It was a real boost for everyone in the group, we got a new kick forward.
Now we are focusing on getting ready with the sponsorships, the website and everything else that needs to be done, so that we can concentrate on only the technical part for the rest of the time in the project. We are trying to be done until Tuesday next week with the website etc. and with the first prototype on Friday next week.
So now it is work, work and more work and it feels fantastic!
Preparation for the Presentation
Posted by Daniel Lauding @ 2009/10/7
We finally have a name! Go To Springs!
Tomorrow is a big day for our group, well for most of the groups in this project module. We have 40 minutes to present our concept to Sid Lee. So today we have to prepare and practice it all.
We need the tools for this and our tools will be:
- Keynote
- Wireframe
- Video
Most of this are already done so now we all have to practise. It will hopefully go very well. We as a group feels very good about this and we have come up with a very good concept (package).
Our plan
Posted by Stefan Leijon @ 2009/10/6
What we’re now expanding on (in every way) is the idea we came up with yesterday.
In the theme of “building on the shoulders of giants”, we collectively fell in love with Miltos Manetas’ flash site jacksonpollock.org which we now are going to expand the code of to use both the IR-sensor as well as the accelerometer to splash paint on our virtual canvas.
Our plan is also to expand into the world of music with this installation, where depending on where the paint-splashes land on the “canvas”, it will trigger parts of a “musical landscape”.
We’re hoping to make the musical experience suit the mood of the world of Jackson Pollock.
We are also looking to change the function of changing color to have the user dip the brush (which will contain the parts needed from the Wii remote) in a paint bucket to change colors.
Also, the virtual canvas will be surrounded by a dropcloth, splattered with real paint from “previous paintings”, as well as several paint buckets from which you can change color by dipping the Wii-brush.
Also Jackson’s old paint stained boots will make an appearance..
